Season Four Match of the Season (vs. The Phoenix)

When it comes to controversy in The League, no name is more synonymous with it than "The Scorpion" Scott Stevens.  An all-arounder with emphasis on submissions and striking, Stevens wasted no time upon entering The League in Season Two, firing insults and trash talk at anyone who would listen.  While this created a ratings boon for The League and helped push it into the discussion of top promotions in the world, Stevens' in-ring ability didn't seem to back up his words or his past accomplishments.  His Season Three campaign, in which he missed the playoffs by a few fractions of a match rating point, seemed to send him into a downward spiral that took him a couple of seasons to recover from.  His post-match antics with The Phoenix, Pizza Mask III, and Diamond seemed to highlight just how far the Houston native had fallen, having to rely on a war of words to remain relevant in a League that seemed to pass him by.  He recovered enough to finally make the playoffs in Season Six, but his run-ins with Pizza Mask III cost him early as he was bounced in the first round.  With The League ready to reform, is the promotion's most well-known trash talker going to return, or has his body cashed one check too many that was written by his mouth?

Stevens maintains his home area popularity in the Mid South of the US, as well as the Mid Atlantic region of the US.  He also rode the wave of momentum from the Season Four match of the season (a nearly hour-long First Blood epic versus The Phoenix) to great popularity in the Kinki region of Japan.  He has struggled to find victories in much of the world, but has better luck in Canada (8-4 League career) and Japan (11-7) as they are the only countries he holds a winning record.
